Earlier today, Ali Abbas Zafar revealed that his upcoming action film Bade Miyan with Tiger Shroff and Akshay Kumar was not shelved as reported by some media outlets. While he had addressed the rumours, ETimes reached out to the filmmaker to know more about the idea behind the film which borrows it’s title from David Dhawan’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan with Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda.

Revealing about the similarity of title Ali said, “Our film Bade Miyan is a completely new film. It has nothing to do with the old one.” One of the film’s main highlights is going to be the pairing of two bonafide action stars Tiger and Akshay Kumar. Talking about the prospects of his high-octane film, Ali said, “It is going to be a big action film. Right now, we are preparing for it and we will begin shooting by the end of the year.”

David Dhawan’s comedy was based on mistaken identity and lookalikes. It featured some memorable comedy set-pieces featuring Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda. Ali’s film on the other hand will rely on the action and athletic skills of its stars – Tiger and Akshay. Ali has previously dabbled with the action genre in films like Gunday and Tiger Zinda Hai.
