Corewell Health East has promoted Derk Pronger as the new president of its Farmington Hills Hospital, effective immediately, the health system said.

Pronger previously served as chief operating officer for the Farmington Hills campus. His other previous roles include chief operating officer and interim president and CEO for Munson Healthcare’s hospital in Traverse City and vice president of surgical and ancillary services at Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital.

“Since the beginning of this year, Derk has taken on more and more responsibilities at our Farmington Hills campus. He has done a wonderful job and I’m confident he will be a fantastic president,” Nancy Susick, Corewell Health East’s chief operating officer for acute and post-acute services, said in a statement.

Pronger is board certified in healthcare management as a fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives. He also serves on the board for the Farmington & Farmington Hills Foundation for Youth & Families. In 2020, he was the recipient of the Detroit Mercy Alumni Achievement Award.
