NEW DELHI: Punjab Kings paceman Kagiso Rabada scripted history on Thursday as he became the fastest bowler to take 100 IPL wickets during the match against Gujarat Titans at the IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali.
Rabada attained the milestone when he claimed the wicket of Titans opener Wriddhiman Saha in the fifth over of the innings.

Incidentally, Rabada – who did it in 64 matches – not only became the fastest bowler to reach the 100-wicket mark in terms of matches played but also took fewer balls (1438) to achieve the feat.

Lankan pacer Lasith Malinga, who picked his 100th wicket in his 70th match, is second on the list followed by Harshal Patel (81) – the fastest Indian to scalp 100 wickets in the IPL, Bhuvneshwar Kumar (82), Rashid Khan (83), Amit Mishra (83) and Ashish Nehra (83) are tied on fifth position.

When it comes to fewer balls taken, Malinga (1622) again is at the second spot followed by Dwayne Bravo (1619 ) and Harshal Patel (1647).
