Rufus Kampa will be playing the royal as a teenager while Ed McVey will play him in his 20s. Kate Middleton, whose younger years will not be portrayed on the series, will be played in her 20s by Meg Bellamy.
All three actors will be making their debuts with these roles, so there is so far no previous work of theirs from which fans can draw conclusions about how William and Kate might be brought to life. However, as The Crown season 6 isn’t premiering until at least late 2023, there is a chance their rising stars will allow them to appear in some projects with quicker turnarounds before season 6 finishes post-production. These new additions to The Crown certainly have their work cut out for them. They will be contending with a brand-new ensemble of heavy-hitters, which includes Staunton, Jonathan Pryce, Lesley Manville, and Dominic West, along with Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana, whose 1997 death will certainly be covered in one of the upcoming two seasons. However, the show’s casting has been one of its major strengths, so these newcomers likely have major chops that they will be able to show off on a huge platform.
