Alternate investment funds or AIFs are special kinds of funds that pool the funds to invest in non conventional investment assets like, Private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, real estate, and commodities.
They have many benefits to the capital markets like diversification, liquidity, innovation and competition. however they pose some risks also like risks of herding and market manipulations.
AIF uva is but a student run club at the University of Virginia, it is McIntire-affiliated club. it trains young professionals in investment management other financial markets.
