The burst capabilities of modern mirrorless cameras now challenge the current capabilities of SDXC cards; if we add to this also the ability to record videos 4K / 120p or 8K / 60p showcased by different models, or even the internal recording of video in RAW formatIt is clear why more and more cameras stand migrating to CFexpress cardscharacterized by significantly higher write speeds.
Lexar is now putting the fastest card on the market on the plate, presenting Lexar Professional CFexpress Type B Diamond Series. Leveraging PCIe Gen 3×2 and NVMe protocols, the new card offers truly high transfer rates, up to 1900 MB / s reading and up to 1700 MB / s in writing. This data is also accompanied by a guaranteed minimum transfer rate in writing of 1600 MB / s.
With these nameplate data easy for the card to meet the VPG 400 specifications and represent a suitable medium for recording videos at the highest resolution and quality and for practically infinite photo bursts.
For added versatility, the Diamond Series is backward compatible with specific XQD cameras (if equipped with updated firmware to also accommodate CFexpress cards) and offers existing devices next-generation performance. In addition, the cards are designed to withstand shocks, vibrations and extreme temperatures, for greater durability and not to give problems even in use in the field in difficult contexts.
The new card will be available in 128GB, 256GB and, from September, 512GB.
