Milan more and more electric. 750 electric scooters for sharing are on the way

The capital of the Lombardy Region, Milan has decided to further improve electric micro-mobility in the city for its citizens. How? By extending the testing phase of his plan until July 2026 and making it arrive over 750 electric scooters for sharing. In this case, we know that the Administration had reaffirmed its willingness to support the spread of this form of mobility within the city since by doing so it allowed citizens the best possibility of travel, also contributing to less use of cars.

Bolt Support arrives in Milan with 750 new electric scooters

Bolt Support is even the eighth company that places its electric scooters in sharing. This will place 750 new scooters within the municipal area which can be rented directly by citizens and clearly not only residents. With the introduction of the new Bolt Support here we reach the infamous limit of 6,000 scooters provided for by the municipal regulation and therefore other operators cannot be authorized and the current fleets can no longer be expanded. The new scooters will be available starting from August 1st after they have passed the preliminary tests required by municipal legislation.

Between 2020 and 2021 there were more than 8,500 daily rentals for a distance of about one and a half kilometers. These data show us that this sharing service is appreciated and mostly used in a complementary way to local public transport for last-mile journeys. At the same time, the Municipality, through AMAT, continues to monitor and improve the service, in collaboration with the companies, on the methods of automatic speed limitation in pedestrian areas and on compliance with parking obligations.
