PlayStation 5 is in the eye of the storm: sudden crashes of the console have in fact annoyed a gamer who has launched a class action against Sony.
Supported by McGuire Law PC, Christina Trejo on July 12 filed a class action suit against Sony Corporation of America in the federal court of Illinois, arguing that the company knowingly hides a PlayStation 5 flaw.
The problem, based on what is reported in the documents, would cause Sudden crashes and shutdowns of the console while the user is playing consequently ruining the game experience and compromising the saves. Trejo then argues that Sonytime ago, is aware of this defect but do nothing to remedy the problem.
Although PS5 can be used for many entertainment purposes, playing video games on the console is its main function. The console flaw affects users’ ability to play video games and impairs the core function and general usage of the PS5.
Despite being aware of the console glitch, the defendant did not disclose the problem to consumers prior to purchasing the PS5, and continues not to, nor has he taken any substantial action to remedy it.
At this point, all that remains is to wait to find out how the story will end, remembering that for PlayStation 5 this is not the first class action: last year, in fact, Sony was brought to court for Dualsense drifting problems.
