For some time Sony has decided to change its strategy, bringing some of its PlayStation exclusives also to PC (with due delay), and recently confirmed that this will remain the way, with half of the games coming out on mobile and computer by the 2025.

From this point of view, it is therefore not surprising that a PC port of Returnal, the roguelike released at the end of April 2021 exclusively on PS5 developed by Housmarque, a studio of which Sony then announced the acquisition in June last year. At the moment there is still no official announcement, but the clues are not lacking: the project was talked about for the first time in relation to the NVIDIA GeForce Now leak (together with that of Horizon: Forbbiden West) and now there is a sighting that indicates how something is starting to move.

Already in May a game associated with the code name “Oregon” was discovered on the Steam database: a subsequent analysis has allowed the title to be traced back to Returnal. And in these hours the database file has been updated further, with changes indicating support for Valve’s portable console, Steam Deck (complete with support for the Steam Controller). These recent movements behind the scenes not only indicate once more that something is brewing, and that the game will probably be immediately usable also in a portable version on Steam Deck, but also and above all that the moment of the official announcement of the porting. Returnal’s PC is plausibly close by now.
