After announcing the introduction of the controls on application permissions, Google takes action again on the Play Store, in particular to change the advertising policies within the Android smartphone apps. In this sense, from 30 September 2022 there will be important news.

For example, the Mountain View giant has applied a stop to sudden advertisements. It happens to everyone, in fact, to be “surprised” by an announcement while reading an article or while playing. Well, all of this will never happen again. Furthermore, full screen ads that do not allow you to close them within 15 seconds will be banned. To this limit, however, there are two exceptions: if you voluntarily choose to watch an ad to get some sort of reward, or if they appear during an interruption of the action.

Google is also making changes to how apps can implement and use tools VPN built-in Android. The apps, in fact, they will not be able to use them to collect user data, unless they obtain explicit authorization from them. Among other things, it will be forbidden to use VPNs to help users bypass or modify ads from other apps.

The developers, then, will have to provide an easily more accessible method to manage / cancel subscriptions to an app: this can be done through in-app processes or with a link to the Google Play Subscription Center. There will also be news on apps that share health information. Google will, from August 31, remove software that contains misleading health information and could cause harm to users.

Finally, a final change will concern the prohibition of creating an app that could make users think that it is somehow connected to someone who has nothing to do with it. For example, it is forbidden to make an app titled “Justin Bieber Official” without having the necessary permissions or rights.
