It may seem like a concept by a brave designer, however Nokia 5710 XpressAudio is real and debuts in Italy, presenting itself as a mobile phone with a pair of built-in wireless earphones in its upper part: just slide the special mechanism downwards and remove the headphones from the housing and then put them back to fill up the batteries. All very nice on paper, too bad it is not possible to access Spotify-style streaming listening services but only listen only songs in mp3 format or settle for fm radiosince this 5710 is not a smartphone, but a simple one feature phone. The price is affordable and winks at those who want to stand out from the crowd with a device that is certainly unique in its kind.
It was back in 2007 when Nokia unveiled its 5310 XpressMusic mobile phone designed for listening to music on the move thanks to its compact size and keys dedicated to the control of the tracks placed at the side of the small display. A solution in perfect style with the period and which made sense fifteen years ago, but which in 2022 could tread a little too much on the vintage taste, also because the integrated headphones, which are the hallmark of this model, seem to be more of a exercise in style that a really useful accessory. The flap that houses the earphones is placed on the upper portion of the back, just press and push with your thumb to extract them from the charging seat and insert them into your ears. If on the other hand you want to share music there is a small speaker while the control keys for tracks and volume remain next to the display, with the characteristic red hue lit on a white or black background.
With just 48 MB of ram and 128 MB of internal memory, Nokia 5710 XpressAudio necessarily requires you to expand the storage space with a card, since it cannot connect to Spotify and the like, but only plays music in mp3 format (with the problem of figuring out where to legally download it nowadays) or from fm radio. The battery is small, 1450 mAh, but it promises weeks of autonomy: certainly you will not be able to count on an app to locate the (tiny) headphones left around, so it is good to pay attention to where they rest. The price of this model is 89.99 euros and you can order it on the official Nokia website.
