If you are a Nintendo Switch owner but also play on PC, there is good news for you: in the latest Steam beta, the one dated August 4th, Valve added Joy-Con support, the pair of peculiar controllers that characterize the Japanese console. The two pads will thus be detected both in their version that sees them used individually, and paired. In practice, Valve re-proposes the entire user experience offered on Switch.
We have not yet tested the function but by reading the comments on the official page, which you find in Source, users say they are satisfied with the implementation of the novelty, net of some bugs, with a good performance of the controls and the possibility of reconfiguring the buttons to pleasure.
Over the years we have seen several initiatives aimed at using Joy-Con on PC, but the official Steam support changes the cards a lot and will allow everyone to take advantage of them in a complete way. Obviously you need to have a motherboard with bluetooth or an adapterbut it is a feature that most users now have.
While waiting for the function to come out of beta, know that the update also improved support for classic controllersor those that reflect the look and functions of the historical ones for NES, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64 and SEGA Mega Drive, sold only to subscribers to Nintendo’s online services.
