Oppo and OnePlus: stop selling in Germany due to Nokia patent litigation

Nokia accused Oppo And OnePlus to use its own patented signal management technology 4G and 5G without granting the necessary licenses. In a note issued to The Vergethe communications director of OnePlus, Spenser Blankconfirmed that the company has stopped sales in Germany and clarified that the reason is to be found in Nokia’s request for “an unreasonably high commission” for the renewal of the license for the exploitation of 4G and 5G technologies.

OnePlus adds that it is working to resolve the legal dispute, while support for all smartphones sold in Germany will still be guaranteed even at this stage, both from the point of view of software updates and after-sales service. Both Oppo and OnePlus will continue to commit to the supply of smartphones in Germany, and are looking forward to overcoming the clutches with Nokia and resuming sales.
