In recent months we have had the opportunity to review several products for cleaning domestic environments developed by Tineco, an Asian company that offers vacuum cleaners that combine dust extraction functionality with washing the floor with water. Tineco Floor One S3 was the first, followed by Tineco Floor One S5 and Tineco Floor One S5 Combo. The latest evolution of the Floor One family that we have analyzed is Tineco Floor One Pro 2 but it was also the turn of Tineco Carpet One, a product specifically designed for cleaning rugs and carpets.
Tineco Floor One S5 Steam, as the name suggests, it incorporates the technical characteristics of the Floor One S5 models by combining dust extraction and floor cleaning, but integrating everything with a degreasing action produced through the water value. Once the water is heated, Tineco Floor One S5 Steam blows hot steam onto the surface that is sucked in so that dirt can be removed more effectively as well as simultaneously proceeding with the dust extraction.
The design of Tineco Floor One S5 Steam recalls that of the other Tineco Floor One models: a vertical structure, with a large and practical upper handle and the base that integrates the suction device together with the brush for washing the floor. The support base is required to position the vacuum cleaner when not in use and to activate the self-cleaning mode, with which the internal ducts and the brush are washed by the hot water of the internal tank.
The brush is similar in shape and size to that of the other Tineco Floor One products, but has a slightly different attachment. On the two sides there is a plastic profile of about half a cm in width, necessary to support the brush and to implement the steam generation system then used by the cleaning product.
THE two tanks are the classic ones of a product of this type: the rear one is fromclear waterwhile the front one collects theDirty water cleaning together with what is sucked up by the product. Very practical in use, it is necessary to check that the first are full of clear water and the second not full of dark water, vice versa, the vacuum cleaner will automatically stop requesting its restoration.
When put into operation Tineco Floor One S5 Steam is used like the other products of the family, with one substantial difference: the steam cleaning system requires high power and this does not make it possible to operate with battery for an adequate period of time. From this power supply with traditional cable ending with a Shuko socketintegrated inside the device and very abundant in length.
Usage is very intuitive: once switched on, the suction and rotation of the brush start automatically and you can start cleaning, making the most of the forward traction impressed by the brush that helps in moving the vacuum cleaner along the floor. The cleaning water vaporization function can be activated by pressing the appropriate button present on the handle: in this way a heating cycle starts with a numerical counter from 1 to 100 which is shown on the display, after which the vacuum cleaner generates steam, continuing to do so until the button is pressed again.
At the end of the cleaning operation it is always advisable to proceed with self-cleaningeven with several cycles in sequence until the water used for washing the product actually comes out transparent: this also avoids the formation of odors, leaving the product ready for use.
How effective is the cleaning action? Compared to the other models of the Tineco Floor One series the possibility of creating and using steam allows you to intervene more effectively on the most resistant stains on the floor. As a counterpoint to the higher efficiency, we must point out that the shape of the brush does not allow it to adhere perfectly to the edge of the walls during the suction operation, as is the case with the Floor One S5 models; the suction power varies automatically, moving to the highest level, adapting itself to the amount of dirt detected on the floor.
I used Floor One S5 Steam to clean balconieswith a much dirtier surface than the typical one in the home. The action was decidedly incisive and effective, helping to clean the tiles more effectively than can be obtained with one of the other Tineco products without the steam function. A better result would have been achieved only by using a pressure washer but this tool is generally not included in an apartment, or easily usable in a context other than that of a detached house. Between the walls of the house, operation is just as problem-free: it is possible to exploit the steam but you can also use the vacuum cleaner in traditional mode, combining suction and rotation of the wet brush on the floor.
Tineco Floor One S5 Steamin short, it incorporates most of the characteristics of the other models in the Floor One family, introducing a steam generation function that allows even more effective cleaning of the floors. Operation is mirrored, with the main difference being that it must be powered by cable and not use a battery. It is offered at a price of € 449 including VATexcept for specific promotions that can be activated.
