The news had been in the air for a few weeks: the Polestar O2 concept car will become a production model. The car will be marketed under the name of Polestar 6 and reservations began yesterday, August 16, 2022. It will take a little longer, however, for deliveries: the lucky buyers will receive their car in the course of 2026.
Thomas Ingenlath, CEO of the company, explained that the decision to put the Polestar 6 into production is due “to the incredible feedback the concept car has received from fans and the press“. In the official press release some interesting details were also confirmed such as the presence of a powertrain with double engine of 884 HP (650 kW) which will translate into true sports performance: 0 – 100km / h in 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 250km / h.
There will also be a special edition, called LA Concept, produced in only 500 units which will be distinguished by the Sky color, that of the images in this article, by special leather interiors and by the 21-inch rims already observed on the Polestar O2.
Further details could emerge later in the week as Polestar will be present at Monterey Car Week, which will take place in California from 18 to 21 August, so in case of news we will not fail to let you know. Meanwhile, the Swedish car company will launch its new Polestar 3 electric SUV in October while next year it will be the turn of the Polestar 4 SUV Coupe and in 2024 the Polestar 5 electric GT will debut.
