Gurman’s predictions focus primarily on the refurbished iPad Pro with M2 processor. It will be available in two versions with 11 “and 12.9” displays, both equipped with screens with miniLED technology. Another important feature coincides with the presence of the MagSafe charging connector. The new models should guarantee improved autonomy compared to previous models and will likely be accompanied by new accessories.
Another product in development that could debut in October coincides with the new cheaper version of the Apple tablet line, the10th generation iPad. Codenamed J272, the device should (finally) integrate the USB-C connector that will replace the Lightning, and could be equipped with a Retina display similar to that of the iPad Air. The diagonal of the display could grow slightly compared to the current model reaching 10.5 “or 10.9”. The more advanced screen features – DCI-P3 color space and high brightness would still remain the prerogative of more expensive iPads. The centerpiece of the hardware platform will be the A14 Bionic processor, according to Gurman.
Mac chapter: Gurman points out in his newsletter that Apple has developed the M2-based versions of the Mac mini, Mac Pro, and MacBook Pro, so I think we’ll probably see at least a couple of those machines in two months.. The rumors about these devices are not new, also because the integration of M2 chips on Apple laptops is the natural evolution of this product line. According to Bloomberg, the MacBook Pro line could be renewed between next fall and spring 2023 with the new 14 “and 16” models equipped with M2 Pro and M2 Max processors.
The October event could also mark the official debut of the new operating systems iPadOS 16 and macOS Ventura which could be released at the end of the presentation, while iOS 16 watchOS 9 and tvOS 16 will arrive a few days after the launch event of iPhone 14. iPadOS 16 and macOS Ventura will have several points in common:
