Despite the many rumors and the amount of data – more or less truthful – leaked on the next GeForce RTX 4000, just over a month after the launch of the top of the range GeForce RTX 4090, the situation on the technical specifications of the Ada Lovelace GPUs is still quite confused, undoubtedly thanks to NVIDIA which so far has been able to maintain the utmost confidentiality on the project.
Continuing the trend that has accompanied us throughout the summer, also this week new updates arrive on the GeForce RTX 40, in particular on what will be the flagship of the range, the GeForce RTX 4080; the information comes to us from the leaker kopite7kimi and suggest a further review of the technical characteristics of the card.

According to what reported, the GPU will keep the 9,728 Cuda Cores unchanged but will be joined by 16GB of GDDR6X VRAM from 23Gbps and not at 21Gbps as previously assumed; in addition to the increase in bandwidth, there is a substantial novelty also with regard to the TBP (Total Board Power) which would be 340 watts and not at 420 watts, aligning to a GeForce RTX 3090 (Review) but with much higher performance.
In reiterating that we are still talking about unofficial data and to be confirmed, the “new technical specifications” of the GeForce RTX 4080 would make much more sense than what has been discussed in recent days. It goes without saying that TBP will be an element of primary importance and, even at the expense of performance, it could be the real battleground with AMD and its Radeon RX 7000 based on RDNA3 architecture.
