The introduction of the new accounts began gradually and is aimed at those interested in exploring the space in virtual reality without, however, feeling obliged to maintain or open a user on Meta’s social networks.
From today, therefore, a simple email address will suffice for open a Meta account, in a very similar way to subscribing to any other digital service: to complete the process you will have to wear the virtual reality viewer in order to obtain a code to be entered in the appropriate Oculus app. However, it will be possible to create a new account by connecting with your Facebook and Instagram credentials through the Account Center: by registering without the social user you will lose some features concerning live streaming, messaging and options to find friends, while all previous users will keep the purchases and downloads already made. A minimum age of 13 is required for registration.
