Just under 14,000 bookings separate Hyundai’s current pre-order record from the previous one: in both cases the model belongs to the Ioniq series, in 2021 it was the Ioniq 5 with 23,760 bookingsnow there Ioniq 6 with 37,446; both mind-boggling numbers confirm that the brand’s electric cars are in high demand.
With these numbers obtained in the homeland, it is likely that, once orders are opened in Europe and North America, the brand will again be stormed by customers who do not want to risk very long delivery times.
The Hyundai Ioniq 6 will be available with two battery versions: 53.0 kWh and 77.4 kWh which, thanks also to the excellent aerodynamics, should offer up to 610 km of autonomy according to the WLTP cycle. There are also two options for traction: single engine with rear-wheel drive and double engine that brings the integral (up to 239 kW). Finally, the top-of-the-range configuration should accelerate from 0 km / h to 100 km / h (62 mph) in 5.1 seconds.
Of course, as with other E-GMP based models, Hyundai Ioniq’s strong point will be an exceptional ability to fast charging, which should allow it to recharge from 10% to 80% of state of charge (SOC) in just 18 minutes; also have the system Vehicle-to-load (V2L) to power external devices through the charging port.

Prices in South Korea, including local subsidies, start at KRW 52 million (over $ 39,000) in the case of the long-haul basic version but we still don’t know what the recommended retail price will be in Europe and the United States.
