Intel the roll-out phase continues Intel Arc Alchemist graphics cards and, together with the long-awaited launch of the top-of-the-range Arc A770 and Arc 750 models, it is also filing the last details to XeSS supersampling technology. Intel’s response to NVIDIA’s DLSS and AMD FSR has suffered delays as has the rest of the Arc project, however, the imminent debut (hopefully) of the GPUs that will complete the Alchemist line, forces the US company to have to tighten times.
In a post that appeared in the past few hours on the Intel Game blog, supported by a substantial video on the official youtube channel, Ryan Shrout and Tom Petersen of Intel offer new updates on XeSS technology, reassuring users that the company is working closely with developers and, at the same time, further confirming that Intel XeSS will also work with older graphics cards (that support at least Shader Model 6.4).
Before moving on to the updated numbers provided by the blue team, we reiterate that the company has not provided an official launch date for XeSS, the only update by the way is that the Intel functionality will be supported on the new Call of Duty Modern Warfare II, in released next October 28th. Currently, Intel XeSS support is confirmed for 19 games:
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II
- Arcadegeddon
- Ghostwire Tokyo
- Vampire Bloodhunt
- Ghostbusters Spirits Unleashed
- Naraka Bladepoint
- Super People
- Gotham Knights
- DioField Chronicles
- Dolmen
- Chivalry II
- Redout II
- The Settlers
- Death Stranding: Director’s Cut
- The Rift Breaker
- Hitman III
- CHORVS
- Shadow of The Tomb Raider
- Anvil Vault Breakers
As for the competitors’ proposals, XeSS will also offer different modes, 4 of them: Performance, Balanced, Quality and Ultra Quality. The updates arrive regarding the performance with the Performance and Balanced presets at 1440p, demonstrating substantial improvements in the framerate ranging from 75% (Balanced) to 100% (Performance) based on the title in question.
