BMW is working on the restyling of its X5 SUV. The restyling forklifts have been intercepted on the road several times over the last few months and have made it possible to discover the first innovations that the German car manufacturer intends to introduce. The update will, of course, also affect the more extreme and sporty version of the SUV namely the BMW X5 M.

Precisely this model was the protagonist of a spy video that CarSpyMedia shared on its YouTube channel. In the video we can see the German SUV engaged in a test session on the Nurburgring track and especially appreciate its dynamic qualities.

Remember, the German circuit is the ideal place to whip the mechanics of a new car and fine-tune the set-up, especially if we are talking about a sports model.

The SUV protagonist of the video obviously still appears camouflaged at the front and rear, i.e. the areas of the car where the main design changes will take place. However, we should not expect big changes to the look of the X5 M. From the front, some changes to the bumper should be introduced, the shapes of the headlights and the grille which will have a look similar to that of the new BMW XM.

Behind, however, in addition to some changes to the bumper and diffuser, there will be news for the optical groups. Obviously, as often happens with restylings, new body colors and alloy wheels with different designs could be introduced. The German brand should be also intervened at the level of the structureto make its sporty SUV even more effective when cornering.

Speaking of the interior, the restyling should introduce the solution already seen on the latest models of the German manufacturer. Therefore, a large panel with the instrumentation and instrument displays inside infotainment system which will have the iDrive 8 platform. The X5 M version will be characterized by the presence of some specific details such as sports seats.

Speaking of the engine, the current model is equipped with a V8 biturbo of 4.4 liters capable of delivering 600 hp (625 hp in the Competition version). One can imagine a small tweak that would bring a slight increase in power. When will the restyling of the BMW X5 debut? The latest rumors speak of the beginning of 2023. The sportier version X5 M could, however, arrive only later. All that remains is to wait for further news on the development of the restyling of the German SUV.
