Android 13 requires at least 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage

Almost all Android smartphones rely on Google services (also called GMS, Google Mobile Services) for many fundamental features: the Play Store, just to give an example, needs these services to function properly. BigG has recently changed the minimum requirements for producers who want to implement GMSand this could be a problem for very low-end smartphones.

The news comes from Jason Baytonan ‘Android Enterprise Expert: Smartphones with less than 2GB of RAM and less than 16GB of internal storage running Android 13 will not be able to implement GMS. In this regard, Google now requires all new devices Android Go have at least 16 GB of storage.

Furthermore, Google stated that Devices already on the market that do not meet the above requirements will not receive any updates to Android 13. Of course, manufacturers will still be able to create devices with less than 2 GB of RAM, but they will have to be limited to Android 12.
