The sequel to the highly acclaimed hero shooter of Blizzard is preparing to debut on the market. After a long wait Overwatch 2 will arrive on October 4th on console and PCbringing with it an unprecedented formula free-to-play which will allow all players to experience the new features of the second chapter. Like other Game-as-a-Service, Overwatch 2 will also invite users to progress in the game to unlock the different levels of the Battle Pass. As we read on Reddit, the pass will offer 80 unlockable ‘tiers’ and, apparently, some of these will offer access to new Heroes.

Spector reassures fans and, answering a question on Twitter, explains that there will be more free unlocks in future seasons for those who want to impersonate one of the new entries.
There was no lack of further criticism from the community, but other users have pointed out that the formula chosen by Blizzard is, in effect, very similar to that adopted by other publishers for their free-to-play games, such as Valorant and Apex Legends.
