Horizon Zero Dawn: a remake for PS5 coming? A multiplayer title is also in development

It seems Sony is intent on producing more remake / remaster of his most successful games. From a report by MP1ST it emerges that Sony Interactive Entertainment has commissioned a new version of Horizon: Zero Dawn designed for PlayStation 5.

The source of the news did not want to specify whether it is a remake – or a game redesigned ‘from the ground up’ – or a remaster. We know the next-gen edition will boast for “an improved lighting system, revisited textures and better animations”in addition to introducing “new character models”in order to match the quality of Forbidden West.

Furthermore, according to MP1ST, one of Sony’s main goals would be to bring the numerous options of accessibility seen in the second chapter. There will be different graphic modes and the ability to unlock the frame rate to take advantage of the VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) supported by PS5. We remember that Horizon: Zero Dawn launched on PS4 just five years ago (March 2017) and that its sequel was released this year (February 2022), both on PS4 and on the more modern PS5. Horizon could receive a multiplayer episode

The alleged Zero Dawn remake wouldn’t be the only Horizon project in the works at SIE and Guerrilla. MP1ST reveals that a “online multiplayer title” currently under development and that a software house – the same Guerrilla, in all probability – would be making the game for PlayStation 5 and PC. Two sources have already confirmed the authenticity of the indiscretion, while a third informant has even revealed the presence of a cooperative mode.
