Not only cars and heavy vehicles, but theelectrification of means of transport has also involved other realities such as electric airplanes or i electric motorboats in various declinations. We recently wrote about X Shore 1, which comes at a price “affordable” for this kind of solutions (about 100 thousand euros) or more expensive models like the Arc One which instead costs 300 thousand euros. A historical brand has also entered this market with the arrival of the new electric motorboat Riva El-Iseo.

This model was presented at the beginning of September and aims to unite the prestigious history of shore with the innovation linked to the new type of engine that could offer various advantages. Also in this case we look at the wealthy buyers who want to try the new experience while being able to boast the possession of a model of the manufacturer of Sarnico (in the province of Bergamo). To complete its realization, another Italian company was also involved, Podium Advanced Technologieswhich will play an important role related to batteries.
Podium Advanced Technologies and the batteries of the Riva El-Iseo electric motorboat
Recall that the new electric motorboat Riva El-Iseo it is a version with modified engine of the already known Iseo. This can count on a length of 27 feet and of which it retains some of the structure, details and modern design that have convinced customers. As mentioned, however, here the propulsion changes and therefore we find a Parker GVM310 electric motor.

The power is equal to 250 kW (with a peak of 300 kW) thus allowing to reach 25 knots to cruise speed while the maximum speed is 40 knots (self-limited) then exploiting the peculiarities of electric motors in terms of torque to have higher accelerations. What about autonomy? According to shore you can reach 10 hours without recharging if you use the economic mode (for this prototype model). Xenta instead it will deal with the transmission system, control of the throttles and on-board systems as well as the driving and recharging modes.

As stated by Podium Advanced Technologies (name known for the creation of the Delta Futurista and for the development of Glickenhaus’s SCG 003C, SCG 004C and 007 LMH racing cars), the company will be engaged in the development and production of the lithium-ion battery pack for Riva El-Iseo. The technical information speaks of two independent battery packs located between the stern seat and the engine with 75 kWh of capacity each (150 kWh overall) a 800 V. The choice of having two independent packs is linked to the redundancy of the system to ensure greater safety in case of failure.
Alberto Galassi (CEO of Ferretti Group, which owns Riva Yacht) stated “El-Iseo is another wonderful chapter of the challenge that only Riva has the pleasure of living every day: combining its legendary history with the most advanced technologies, generating beauty and style that never go out of style “.
