The last folding smartphones from Samsungor Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4, have convinced us a lot: the devices have been updated from the hardware point of view and the small improvements made by the Korean company are felt in everyday use. Unfortunately, as happened also for the Galaxy Z Fold 4, not too much progress has been made regarding the Galaxy Z Flip 4 camera.

The smartphone has in fact passed from the hands of DxOMarka famous French newspaper that carries out extensive tests for practically any device in circulation: in particular, DxOMark has focused on the camera of Galaxy Z Flip 4and sadly the verdict says that the smartphone is not a real camera phone (just as the Z Flip 4 was not).
These are the specifications of the photographic sector of Galaxy Z Flip 4:
- Primary sensor: 12 MP 1 / 1.76 ″, 1.8 μm pixels, f / 1.8 aperture, AF, OIS
- Ultra-wide sensor: 12 MP, f / 2.2 aperture, 1.12 μm pixel, 123º FOV
The overall score assigned to the Galaxy Z Flip 4 is 112 points: this places the smartphone at the 47th place in the ranking of DxOMarkpractically on a par with Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Samsung Galaxy S21 in Exynos variant (a sign that compared to last year, not much has changed).
DxOMark then assigned a score to some types of images taken with Galaxy Z Flip 4: at outdoor photo (very high brightness) have been awarded 131 pointsat indoor photos have been awarded 119 pointsat photo in low light conditions have been awarded 78 points and finally on fgroup photo have been awarded 111 points.
Among the strengths of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 camera we point out the good exposure of the subjects in photos and videos, effective video stabilization and fast autofocus. Even the level of detail is generally good, as are colors and white balance. Among the negative sides we point out instead the noticeable loss of detail and low exposure pictured with low lightartifacts visible in some conditions and colors that are occasionally inaccurate.
