Surface Laptop 5 official: Intel 12th gen, up to 32GB RAM and 1TB storage | Prices

During the presentation event Microsoft made the new Surface Laptop 5 official and as anticipated most of the news are almost exclusively devoted to performance improvements. The new models, available in multiple hardware variants, rely on 12th generation Intel Core architectures based on the Intel Evo platform, naturally with Windows11 as the operating system. As for the RAM we will have three options of LPDDR5x, namely 8GB, 16GB or 32GB. The mounted graphics card is an Iris Xe. At the storage level we will be able to choose between three SSD options, starting from 256GB, to get to 512GB or 1TB.

Surface Laptop 5 is available with Pixelsense touch display in sizes 13.5 “(2256 x 1504 at 201 PPI) or 15” (2496 x 1664 at 201 PPI) and body colors to be chosen from Sage, Matte Black, and Sandstone, with an elegant version in alcantara.

As for the battery, we do not have precise data on the mounted unit, but Microsoft speaks of about 17 hours of use typical for the 15-inch version and 18 hours for the 13.5-inch version. We find a webcam with a maximum resolution of 720p for video calls, while as regards the physical connections available we will have 1 USB-C with support for USB 4.0 and Thunderbolt 4. 1 USB-A 3.1 drive, the 3.5 mm jack and 1 Surface Proprietary Connect port.

This laptop supports Dolby Vision IQ and in fact it offers a very high image quality, but the audio component is also of equal level thanks tol Dolby Atmos support and the possibility of enjoying spatial audio suitable for both listening to music and for enjoying video content. Surface Laptop 5 will arrive in Italy on 25 next October. The 13.5 “model starts at € 1,209, while the 15” model starts at € 1,589. The price includes the Surface Earbus earphones. Pre-orders are already active on the manufacturer’s official website.
