The debut of Overwatch 2 been pretty chaotic, with thousands of players stuck in endless ‘queues’ waiting to try the new hero shooter. It took a few days, but Blizzard managed to solve most of the access problems and now wants to be forgiven by a decidedly annoyed community. For users there a free skin for one of the most popular heroes on the roster. There are also several weekends in which it will be possible to accumulate double XP points.
How to unlock the Reaper skin and Health Pack charm
In a post published on its official blog, Blizzard Entertainment wanted to thank users who, from 4 October as of today, they are populating the Overwatch 2 lobbies.
The developers also apologized to any other players they encountered login problems in the early days: the team claims to have “widely stabilized the game” and announces that they have planned a new patch for this weekend. In addition to an apology, Blizzard announces a series of initiatives dedicated to unfortunate users “to make up for lost time”.

It starts with two very welcome gifts: a legendary skin of Reaper (Cursed Captain) and a weapon pendant (Health Pack), both redeemable for free by all players, but on one condition. You will need to log into the game to get these cosmetic items between October 25 and the end of Season 1 of Overwatch 2 – ending December 6, 2023. Once you have met the requirements, items will automatically appear in your collection.
It does not end there, because Blizzard has announced “several weekends” during which the experience points obtainable at the end of each game will be doubled. There are no dates for the events yet ‘Double Match XP‘, but the developers will reveal the schedule soon.
