Lucid Motors tripled production in the third quarter. The annual milestone is still possible

The last few times we had talked about Lucid Motors, the news was not, so to speak, very good. The American start-up, which for now has only the Air luxury electric sedanhad managed to deliver only 360 cars in the first quarter of 2022, resulting in a heavy financial hemorrhage of $ 246 million.

Things had gone a little better in Q2, with 670 vehicles, but still heavy losses of 292 million. As a result of these poor results, Lucid had cut annual estimates from 12,000-14,000 cars, to just 6,000-7,000.

The production data for the third quarter, which fortunately show encouraging signs. Production once again increased, more than doubled in this case, reaching almost 1,400 carscars delivered obviously to “reservation holders” who were still waiting.

The company therefore, after this injection of confidence, believes it can still be able to reach the target set annually, even if this means that in the last quarter available it will have to further double its production and logistics capacity at a minimum. On the financial front there is curiosity to understand how better numbers have impacted the accounts, but for this we must wait for the call on 8 November.
