A concerning investigation has also exposed the horrors of migrant children going missing from temporary accommodation after over 100 children disappeared between July 2021 and August 2022. Now, new research from pressure group Migration Watch UK has stated that the average annual number of migrants resettling in the UK has risen exponentially compared to previous years.
Migration Watch works to try to reduce immigration to the UK after concluding that the current level is untenable and unsustainable.
In the year to June 2022, 240,000 refugees directly resettled in the UK through special schemes.
This is in comparison to the usual annual average of 4,200 between 2015 and 2020 which according to the research group, “represents a 56-fold rise”.
The news comes after Liz Truss and President Macron vowed to work together to crack down on the Channel crisis.
It is thought that Suella Braverman, the Home Secretary, is planning to use a £50million deal between France and the UK to demand British officials on French shorts to tackle the issue.
The Home Secretary has come under fire for her revelation of her ‘Christmas wish’ at the Conservative Party conference which is to see the front page of the papers showing a picture of the first plane deporting immigrants to Rwanda.
Despite the Government trying to use Rwanda as a threat, 539 migrants arrived in small boats on Monday and over 34,000 people have done the perilous crossing this year.
