Good news for the Italian workers hired by the sales giant Amazon, who thanks to the union agreement reached with all the main trade unions, namely Filt Cgil, Fit Cisl, Uiltrasporti, Nidil Cgil, Uiltemp, Felsa Cisl, Filcams, Fisascat, Uiltucs and Ugl, it will lead to heavier payrolls and other improvements in economic conditions.
Both fixed-term and permanent employees will be affected by the contractual improvements, with reference to administrative and operational staff, therefore also all those engaged in warehouse operations. It will be applied as of October a 2% salary increasewhile starting from January 2023 meal vouchers will rise from the current 5 euros to 7 euros. On balance, the basic salary of employees in the logistics branch will rise to 1,713 euros gross per month.
But that’s not all, it will also arrive by the end of the year an extraordinary bonus of 500 euros in voucherswhich employees can use through a corporate welfare platform.
Amazon has published a note in which it positively comments on the news.
“With this increase, entry salaries have increased by 19% compared to those of 2018 and are 8% higher than what is required by the 5th level of the national collective labor agreement for Logistics, Freight Transport and Shipping”
Currently Amazon has about 14,000 employees in Italy alone, but has announced that by the end of the year it wants to strengthen the apparatus by hiring another 3,000 people and thus reaching a total of 17,000 workers. The trade unions also said they were satisfied with the result achieved, stating in a note that this agreement represents only the beginning of a renewal process aimed not only at improving wage conditions, but working conditions in general.
