The Ford Kuga Plug-in Hybrid is the best-selling Plug-in model in Europe in the first half of 2022. In the first 6 months of the year, over 23,000 Kuga PHEVs delivered to customers in the Old Continent. The great appreciation for the Plug-in version of the Ford Kuga was also confirmed in 2022, which had already been the best-selling PHEV model in Europe in 2021.
Recall that this model can count on a 165 kW / 225 hp powertrain with 200 Nm of torque. In electric only it is possible to travel 57-67 km according to the WLTP cycle. In the city cycle the distance rises to 71-88 km. To celebrate this success in terms of sales, Ford has decided to make the new “Black Package” package available in Europe which allows you to make the look of the Kuga more gritty.
However, this package, says Ford, will not be exclusive to the PHEV model only. In fact, it will be proposed with all Kuga ST-Line X engines. Specifically, the Black Package adds a contrasting black roof and black finish for the mirror caps. In addition, the air intakes of the front fascia and the rear spoiler are also in black. Same color for the DT-Line badge, for the Kuga lettering on the tailgate and for the 20-inch alloy wheels. The Black Package costs 2,250 euros. Glen GooldVehicle Line Director at Ford, on the success of the PHEV model said:
We know that many of our customers who want to move away from the traditional petrol or diesel car do not yet feel ready to take the pure electric route and the fact that the Kuga Plug-In Hybrid is the best-selling PHEV in Europe proves that this type of power supply is the choice made by many customers. Cars like the Kuga Plug-In Hybrid are a key part of Ford’s commitment to transitioning to an electrified future.
