We no longer speak only of tracking but, following in the wake of the innovations presented at Canon, Nikon and Fujifilm, of real recognition of the subjects.

In particular, the ‘old’ Face Detection is now opposed to the recognition of the whole human figurewhich allows you to keep under control all movements of the body and limbs and do not lose sight of the face and headeven when the subject turns or wears hats and glasses. Also in these conditions, then, the system is able to activate the tracking focus on the eye.

it was interesting to test (even if for a few minutes) the machine in the focus of a fencing match. Body recognition allows the machine to discriminate very effectively between the two subjects and to bring the point of focus on the head of one or the other with a stroke of the joystick.

The precision of the focus and the resolution of the machine even allow you to glimpse the face of the fencer under the mask! In this case, the 61 megapixel 35mm full frame Exmor R sensor shows its full potential .
