The new number one of DxOMark is a smartphone that you will hardly buy

The French newspaper DxOMarkfamous for its thorough testing of many aspects of smartphoneupdated the ranking of devices with the best photographic sector: the new number one smartphone though it will hardly be in your handsgiven that for the moment it is not yet available in our country.

We are obviously talking about Huawei Mate 50 Pro: the smartphone of the Chinese house was unveiled in China at the beginning of September and only a few weeks later the company confirmed that the device would arrive in version Global also in the rest of the world. At the time of this writing though, we do not yet know if Huawei Mate 50 Pro will actually arrive in Italy.

In any case, DxOMark he wasted no time and carried out his usual tests on smartphone cameras. Before taking a look at the scores, these are the technical specifications of the photographic sector:

• Primary sensor: 50 MP, 24mm equivalent lens with variable aperture between f / 1.4 and f / 4.0, optical stabilization
• Ultra-wide sensor: 13 MP, 13mm equivalent lens with f / 2.2 aperture
• Telephoto sensor: 64 MP, 90mm equivalent lens with f / 3.5 aperture, optical stabilization

The total score assigned to the smartphone is 149 points (therefore exceeded Pixel 7 Pro, by two points lower, and hooked the first place in the general classification).

DxOMark also assigned other specific scores:

• Photos and videos taken in bright light (≥1000 lux): 165 points (record)
• Photos and videos shot in good lighting conditions (≥100 lux): 151 points (record)
• Photos and videos taken in low light conditions (<100 lux): 122 points (record)
• Photo in portrait mode or group photo: 142 points (record)

Among the positives of the Huawei Mate 50 Pro cameras we find a high level of image detailwell managed noise in the photos, accurate colors in bright light conditions, precise autofocus in photos and videosrealistic bokeh effect e wide dynamic range in both photos and videos.

However, there are some negative sides: according to DxOMark, sometimes they are noticed small inconsistencies with the white balancethe Image capture is slow in difficult shooting conditions and also in some cases we notice one difference in sharpness between frames of a video.
