Superheroes have gone through a crisis. Not on a personal level, mind you, but after the twisted story of 2017 linked to the film Justice League, the future of Superman, in particular, on the big screen it had gotten a little uncertain. Then, last week, Henry Cavill confirmed that he will return to wearing the Man of Steel cloak and the newborn Warner Bros Discovery revealed that, starting November 1, the director James Gunn and producer Peter Safran will be the new managers of Dc Studiosthus going to fill a previously unprecedented position within the company dedicated to the production of films and series based on the characters of the DC Comics comics.
Cavill’s return as the superhero offers Gunn and Safran a unique opportunity to renew the character. In his previous appearances, the actor’s Superman appeared serious and sober. Recognize that Superman can (and, perhaps, should) to be fun it is just one of the many reflections that the new leaders of the DC must make to revitalize the character.
