EVGA’s farewell to the world of video cards leaves the landscape of extreme NVIDIA GPU-based solutions with a single flagship, the series HOF of Galax. The Asian company is preparing the GeForce RTX 4090 in sauce Hall of Fame and, in the last few hours, the photos of the PCB and the first remarkable results in overclocking have appeared on the net.

Distinguished from the classic White color PCBthe HOF is the first GeForce RTX 4090 with a dual 16-pin connector (12VHPWR), theoretically able to ensure up to 1200W of power. On the PCB heads a VRM with 28 + 4 phasesfour more than the 24 + 4 configuration of the similar model RTX 3090 Ti.

Being a model aimed at the public of extreme overclockers, we find points for the detection of voltages and a button that is used to load a BIOS optimized for using the video card under liquid nitrogen, able to move the roof of the power limit up to 1000W. And it is precisely in this configuration of use that the card is already giving record resultsat least in the hands of the Greek team OGS.

The first is undoubtedly the one that represents, to date, a frequency record for GPUs: well 3.7 GHz (3705 MHz to be precise) during the GPUPI test, finished in just 49 seconds versus the 1:05 time that the card takes at stock rates. Increasing the frequency thus allows a reduction in the completion time of 16 seconds. Record frequencies have been achieved bringing the GPU boost from 2520 MHz by default to 3345 MHz (+825 MHz). It should be noted that the 3.7 GHz exceeds the 3.45 GHz scored by another solution from Galax.

More conservative clock but still noteworthy in the test 3DMark Port Royalwhere a frequency of 3570 MHz allowed to snatch a score of 31096 points which is worth the first position. In short, the RTX 4090 HOF seems to have what it takes to make the joys of extreme overclockers: in the coming weeks, even better results could fall, perhaps even to fend off the onslaught of AMD’s new RDNA 3 GPUs from which we expect very high clocks. already by default.
