Portability and SIM change, from today the new rules to combat scams

Change today rules for SIM change and number portability. This was established by AGCOM with resolution 86/21 / CIR of July 2021, intervening on the previous rules which have proven to be only partially effective. Among the phenomena that the authority intends to combat with the provision is that of SIM swapor the scam for which a user changes owner without the knowledge of the same of which, unfortunately, the news overflows.

There are two key innovations. The SIM change can be carried out only by the holder of users, and the introduction of a kind of two-factor verification: on the one hand there is the verification of the identity of the applicant through the document, on the other hand the actual will of those who use the SIM to proceed with the operation by sending an SMS or a call to the number involved.
