Through its official website amptricitya start-up founded just two years ago in Miami, Florida, he announced clearly to have produced the first solid-state battery for domestic or commercial storage; deliveries will start in the first quarter of 2023 and the batteries are guaranteed for life (with warranty transferable from one owner to another).
The product for residential use is called Amptricity All-In-One and available in different formats: 12 kWh, 24 kWh, 36 kWh and 48 kWh. According to the company, the batteries they can be loaded and unloaded simultaneously, experience no heat runoff, operate at extremely low temperatures, are 100% recyclable and contain no toxic components within them. They also have an energy storage efficiency with an annual retention rate higher than the 96%.
While solid-state batteries for residential applications are ready for pre-orders (for now only in North America), those for commercial use (from 60 kWh, 120 kWh, 150 kWh, 180 kWh, 300 kWh, 470 kWh, 1 MWh and 2 MWh) are currently available only for selected customers; an announcement relating to the production phase is expected in the coming weeks. The company intends to start a produce 4 GW per year in 2024 and then increase to 16 GW and is examining manufacturing site locations in Texas, Arkansas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Arizona and Tennessee.
