Abarth has officially brought its first SUV called Pulse to its debut in Brazil. As already mentioned in the past, this model is exclusive to the South American market. It will not be marketed in Europe. The first Abarth SUV was developed at the Stellantis Automotive Center in Betim and derives from the Fiat Pulse model. The price? It starts, in Brazil, from 149,990 Real which at the exchange rate is just under 27,000 euros.
For this model, Abarth has modified the Fiat Pulse by equipping it with a specific body kit capable of making the car look more aggressive. We find, for example, inserted in glossy black up to the double chromed tailpipe and the black alloy wheels. There’s also a two-tone roof, contrasting with the body, which features a spoiler. The alloy wheels are 17 inches.
This model is available in Banchisa White, Strato Grey, Red and Volcano Black colors, with contrasting red, gray or black exterior details. As regards, however, the interior, we find the Connect Me infotainment system equipped with a 10.1-inch screen. In the passenger compartment, the digital instrumentation also stands out with a 7-inch panel and customized Abarth graphics. The standard equipment includes, among other things, paddles on the steering wheel, wireless charger for smartphones, automatic climate control, Full LED headlights and Keyless system.
On the safety front, the new Abarth Pulse can count on an ADAS package which includes automatic emergency braking and Lane Departure Alert. As regards, however, the power unit that Abarth has decided to use for this model, we find the T270 turbo unit (1.3 liter displacement) capable of delivering 185 HP with 270 Nm of maximum torque. The gearbox is a 6-speed automatic. There maximum speed reaches 215 km/h, while accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h takes 7.6 seconds. There are, however, three driving modes available. For the Pulse, Abarth has also developed a specific chassis setup to improve driving dynamics.
