Last Wednesday, November 16thArtemis 1, the giant rocket (about 100 meters long) carrying Orion, the probe designed to take astronauts to the Moon and in the future to other planets, was successfully launched.
Today, November 21, also, the probe Orion will finally reach the moon, touching about 130 kilometers from its surface. If all goes according to plan, the close pass will happen at 13.57 (Italian time), when the probe will fire its main engine which will allow it to enter lunar orbit in four days. Members of the Artemis 1 team will explain the maneuver during a live stream available on the American space agency website starting at 1.15 pm today (always Italian time).
