Everyone knows Shazam: it is an application that has been available for many on the Play Store and App Store recognizes the songs being played by simply listening to them using the microphone of the smartphones. To call up the app, at least on Android, you can use a widget placed on the home screen.

Until today, the Shazam widget was simply a shortcut to the app: clicking on it, the app opened and started listening to the song. But now, the Shazam developers have released a new update (version 13.7) which introduces a brand new widgetfinally faster to use and really useful.
The new widget, which has standard size 5×1it is first compatible with Material You dynamic themes and Android 12 and above: this means that it is colored according to the background of the smartphone and therefore it is decidedly more beautiful and integrated into the home screen.
The widget consists of a small text (“Tap to Shazam”) and the Shazam button: by clicking on it, it will start listening to the song without opening the Shazam app and then without leaving the home screen (simply, the writing will become “Listening for music”).
When recognition is complete, the left side of the widget will display cover art, song title and artist, and a notification will be shown to open the song page on the Shazam app.
Obviously, the widget can be resized to your liking: for example, the 1 x 1 widget simply shows the Shazam logo with the colors of the theme set on the smartphone, but the operation remains the same.
