VIA AMOS-3007 arrives, compact and robust edge server for industrial applications

VIA made available VIA AMOS-3007, a compact and rugged edge server designed for use in industrial environments, characterized by extreme temperatures and the presence of dust and humidity. It is a solution for applications of Industrial IoT and use cases such as machinery monitoring, automation, facility management, data visualization.

VIA AMOS-3007: the technical characteristics

The VIA AMOS-3007 is an edge server weighing just 1 kg and measuring 170×48.5×126 mm. As evident from the pictures, it is a device ruggeddesigned to withstand extreme conditions, such as those we can find inside factories. It can withstand temperatures ranging from -20° to 70°provided you mount an M.2 SSD of type industrial grade. It is totally fanlessnot so much to avoid noise as to reduce maintenance, which could otherwise be frequent in the case of dusty environments.

As for the specs, it features a 1.5GHz quad core Intel Atom processor which can be joined by up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM (there is only one SODIMM slot). The GPU is integrated into the processor while for storage there is an M.2 slot and a SATA connector.

Rich equipment of ports, which includes two Ethernet connectors (1 Gbps), two USB 2.0 ports and as many USB 3.0, as well as two HDMI outputs. To these connectors are added two COM ports and one DIO port for 8-bit GPIO. There is also a slot to insert a 4G or 5G SIM, so as to guarantee connectivity if placed in corners that are difficult to access. There are also four connectors to add as many antennas, so as to boost the cellular or Wi-Fi signal, if necessary. It should be noted that wireless connectivity is only available by purchasing optional M.2 modules.

Supported operating systems are Windows 10, 11 and Linux.
