SK Innovationa South Korean conglomerate that has several divisions within it, is about to launch a model of fast charging station for electric vehicles, capable of Analyze battery health status during the session.

The project is based on the collaboration of battery manufacturer SK Onis that of SK Signet columnswho have worked hand in hand to exploit each other’s knowledge.

The artificial intelligence developed within the SK On program called BaaS AI (Battery as a Service Artificial Intelligence) constantly collects data on the state of the battery, so as to be able to recognize any problems, and also estimate the value of the accumulator.

The tests were carried out for about a year, and now the time has come for the definitive launch. The system will obviously work only with SK Signet columnsbut open even to vehicles not fitted with an SK On battery.

On a 50 kW DC column required a session from at least 30 minutes to get the battery diagnosis, but the higher the charging power, the shorter the time required. At the end of the session, the user receives the result of the analysis both on the display of the column and on the SK app. The company announced the presentation to the next CES in Las Vegasat the beginning of January, a place chosen not by chance, given the large presence of SK Signet as a supplier of columns on American soil.
