It is not the first time that a Google application has been “stuck” in its updates in the Play Store. Today is the turn of Android System Intelligence which has been giving users some headaches for a few months Samsung. The application fails to update and leaves users with a terse “Failed to update”.

The methods suggested by Google do not seem to solve the problem and there are many Samsung users who report that this app is impossible to update. Opening the app in the Play Store another message appears:
This app is no longer compatible with your device. For more information, contact the developers.

It’s not a core app and some users have simply opted to disable it, but you may be missing out on some of the “smart” features Google offers on Android.
Among the smartphones that have this problem we point out Samsung Galaxy S22, S22+, S22 Ultra, A22, S20, S20+ and S21 Ultra. However, many other smartphones are probably affected. In September this problem had already occurred for some Samsung users and was resolved after a few days, which does not seem to be happening this time.
How to fix Android System Intelligence update
We recommend that you wait and be patient for Samsung and Google to fix the problem. For the more impatient there is another solution to update to the latest version of Android System Intelligence by hand with the apkdownloadable at this link. At the moment, however, the apks that solve the problem are only those for pixels and not the OEM ones (ie for other non-Google manufacturers) which are too old and give an error when installing.
So be careful: if for some this solution has solved the problem, for others the “wrong” version of Android System Intelligence causes it to crash giving sporadic errors.
