As anticipated a few days ago, Xiaomi made its new top of the range Xiaomi 13 series official yesterday. All the main rumors of the past few weeks have therefore been confirmed, starting with the different design adopted by the two versions and the presence of the brand new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, capable of allowing the two top of the range to offer a clear leap in performance in various areas. But let’s get to know them better.

XIAOMI 13 PRO

So let’s start with Xiaomi 13 Pro, which comes with a front design all in all very similar to that of its direct predecessor. This is because the display specifications remain more or less unchanged, given the presence of di a 6.73″ LTPO-style 10-bit OLED drivewith an update frequency of up to 120Hzresolution of 3,200 x 1,440 pixels and support for the classic HDR10+, Dolby Vision, HLG technologies and the ambient light sensor that acts on the color temperature of the panel.

The main differences compared to 12 Pro concern the adoption of a Samsung E6 unit which allows you to reach a peak brightness of 1,900 nits when viewing HDR content, settling instead on 1,200 nits during classic use.

Under the body we find other improvements which – in addition to the presence of the new SoC – concern the transition to type memories LPDDR5X And 3.5GB/s UFS 4.0 (UFS 3.1 on the 128 GB cut, up to 2.2 GB/s), respectively for RAM and storage space, which are offered in denominations from 8/12GB for the first and 128/256/512GB for the second ones. There is also a battery 4,820mAh with support for fast charging a 120W (19 minutes from 0% to 100%) in wired mode e 50W in Pro wireless mode (36 minutes from 0% to 100%), plus 10W reverse.

But the real flagship of Xiaomi 13 Pro is its new photographic sector, where we find the 1″ 50 MP Sony IMX989 main sensor (with a crop of the central part), the same adopted on the 12S Ultra, combined with a new optic with Leica lenses and aperture f/1.9 and Hyper OIS capabilities. Also the other two cameras are equipped with a sensor from 50MPstarting with that tele 3,2x opticsequipped with the Leica Lens Floating system f/2.0 and ability to focus from just 10 cm, while that ultra wide is one f/2.2 from 115° equipped with the focusing system that allows you to use it also for macro shots. The front camera is from 32 MegaPixels (f/2.5) and can only shoot movies in FHD at 30 fps.

Among the other features of Xiaomi 13 Pro we also find the certification IP68Dolby Atmos speaker with support for the new head tracking mode, WiFi 6e And Bluetooth 5.3IR emitter, in-display fingerprint sensor, ceramic back (in leather in the light blue variant) and an operating system based on MIUI 14 and Android 13. Finally we point out that the dimensions are equal to 162.9 x 74.6 x 8.7 mm and 229 grams of weight.

Xiaomi 13

Xiaomi 13, on the other hand, adopts a design much more squared and similar to that of the latest generations of iPhonegoing to equip a flat front panel (that of 13 Pro has the classic curved edges) under which we find a display 120Hz OLED which shares all the main technologies found on the Pro model, including peak brightness. The differences are in going down a lower resolution – you switch to 2,400 x 1,080 pixels -, L’absence of LTPO technology and a diagonal of 6.36“.

What we find under the body also does not change, given that we have the same SoC and the same memory cuts, while compared to Xiaomi 12 we have the inclusion of a real camera with tele lens, which completes the photographic sector. Specifically we have a main sensor from 50 MegaPixels Sony IMX800 (54 MP effective) f/1.8, a 3x telephoto 10 MegaPixel optics f/2.0 with OIS and an ultra wide 12 MegaPixel 120° (f/2.2) without autofocus. All rear cameras adopt leica lenseswhile we point out that the front one remains the same from 32 MP that we find on the Pro.

The battery of Xiaomi 13 is a unit from 4,500mAh equipped with wired fast charging a 67W (0% to 100% in 38 minutes), wireless a 50W (from 0% to 100% in 48 minutes) and reverse a 10Wwhile we don’t find any differences – compared to the Pro – in terms of support for new features Dolby Atmosto the WiFi 6e and Bluetooth 5.3and even in the presence of IP68 certification.

Instead, the materials change, given that ceramics gives way to a more traditional one glass back, although the light blue version features the same leather back panel. The colors are the same as the Pro model (black, grey, white, light green and light blue) and to these are added other variants with brighter colors, ie red, yellow, green and blue.

We point out that Xiaomi 13 will also arrive on the market with MIUI 14 and Android 13 and that its dimensions are equal to 152.8 x 71.5 x 8.1mm And 189 grams of weight.
