Tomb Raider, the new game will be published by Amazon Games

The new game in the Tomb Raider serieswhose announcement came in April, will published by Amazon Games. The studio of the e-commerce giant announced with a Press release which will give full support to Crystal Dynamics and publish the title worldwide.

Based on Unreal Engine 5the new game is described as “a story driven single player adventure which continues the story of Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider series. It includes all the elements that have made Tomb Raider one of the most revered franchises.” The title is currently in early development stage and “further details will be announced at a later date.”

The Tomb Raider franchise includes more than 20 video games and has sold more than 95 million copies since the first title was released in 1996. The most recent “Survivor Trilogy”, consisting of Tomb Raider (2013), Rise of the Tomb Raider (2015) and Shadow of the Tomb Raider (2018), has garnered more than 200 awards and nominations.

The deal with Crystal Dynamics scores a further expansion for Amazon Games as publisher: Covered Smilegate RPG’s Lost Ark and Bandai Namco Online Inc’s Blue Protocol. The upcoming Tomb Raider title will mark Amazon Games’ first narrative single-player game, following its multiplayer successes with New World and Lost Ark.
