To fully exploit the potential of the Nvidia GeForce Rtx 4080 graphics card, it is good to accompany it with an adequate build. To build the computer to support this test, we chose components capable of supporting it ad hoc.
The motherboard is Asus Prime Z790-A Wifi, a model with Intel Lga 1700 socket ready to accommodate the 12th and 13th generation processor generations, a stable power delivery system and with a solid and durable construction, support for ddr5 type memory up to 128GB,PCIe 5.0 and with an abundant supply of ports and inputs: in short, an ideal choice for those looking for gaming performance and focusing on content creation. For the connection to the web there are the Intel 2.5Gb Ethernet port and the wi-fi antenna magnetically applicable to the case.
The processor is Intel 13700K or the median proposal of the new thirteenth generation, equipped with eight high-performance cores at 5.4 GHz and 8 high-efficiency cores at 4.2 GHz. The reference consumption is 125 watts with a peak of 253 watts and you can indulge yourself with the overclock using the useful and intuitive Intel proprietary software Extreme Tuning Utility. In the game it can give its best while always guaranteeing optimal performance and it is also a very valid ally in the creation of content, but of course it needs a high-performance heat dissipation system because the temperature can rise a lot.
As far as the SSD is concerned, we went on the safe side with one of the best choices in terms of performance and quality/price ratio, that is Samsung 980 Pro with 1TB cutout and heatsink already integrated, a reliable solution that guarantees the top in gaming, content creation and intensive daily use.
Another “obligatory” choice for those looking to push their build to the max is the ram signed by Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5 16GB version, naturally mounted in pairs for a total of 32 GB. The potential of this solution is wide and varied, with integrated voltage regulation via the iCUE software for overclocking, ten brilliant RGB LEDs and with dozens of preset profiles.
For the case we relied on NZXT with its new H5 case which creates a perfect flow of air to keep the many horses that pulsate inside always cool. The novelty is a 120 mm inclined fan that specifically takes care of the graphics card, a perfect choice for the Rtx 4080. The case is medium in size, everything fits easily with a minimalist style and very pleasant in the white color.
Also by NZXT is the CPU cooler, in the model version Kraken X53 with liquid cooling and very impressive rotating infinity mirror design.
The first of the two monitors we’ve paired with the build is the Glorious Asus ROG Swift PG42UQ OLED, a model with an OLED panel that acted as a perfect shoulder to the most extreme configurations in play. Thanks to the 42-inch diagonal, 4k resolution, a frequency of up to 138 Hz and a response time of 0.1 ms. The anti-reflection coating always ensures the best visibility and there is a custom heat sink.
To test the content creation part we relied on another champion like Asus PA32D from the ProArt family, a 31.5-inch oled model with 4k resolution, 99% dci-p3 color coverage, a very useful motorized colorimeter for a more precise and faster self-calibration, true 10-bit color depth and double stand.
