Jack Sweeneythe 20-year-old owner of the Twitter account that tracked Elon Musk’s whereabouts, is back on Twitter with @ElonJetNextDay, ElonJet but Delayed. Sweeney’s previous page was removed from the microblogging platform for violating its (new) rules, but now the new account fully complies with the updated guidelines.

The story begins a few years ago, when Sweeney had started monitoring all the movements of Elon Musk’s private jet within the @ElonJet Twitter account, also promoted on other platforms. After the acquisition of the service, Musk himself threatened to take legal action against the young man, following the suspension of all his accounts on the social platform (which in the meantime became his property). With the new account @ElonJetNextDay Sweeney will continue to track the billionaire’s jet, but adhering to the platform’s new rules.

ElonJet returns, but now compliant with (new) Twitter rules

The monitoring of the position of the vehicle will in fact take place with a 24 hours delay compared to the actual movement, through a manual intervention of the same twenty-year-old. At the moment “the automation framework not ready”Sweeney said to Business Insider, who also added that his original service, @ElonJet, is still available elsewhere today (e.g. on Truth Social, by former US President Donald Trump). In the young man’s plans there is also an “invasion” on other platforms, such as Instagram and Facebook, with his channels (@Celebjets for example).

Sweeney has more than 30 accounts in which he monitors the real-time movements of celebrities such as Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos and Trump himself. With Musk, however, he has encountered several obstacles over time: previously the billionaire CEO of Tesla, SpaceX and – now – also Twitter, had proposed an economic solution to Sweeney himself, indicating how tracking the position of the jet could be a danger for him. Musk and his family. Twitter then updated its policies on real-time tracking of other users’ locations, guaranteeing that it could do so “with a slight delay.” And so, in a completely new form, the @ElonJet channel returned to twitter on the microblogging platform.
