2022 has been a mixed year for the world of TV series. Such a varied and vast panorama, including unpublished productions, new arrivals and returning shows from all over the world. Composed of thousands of stories, mostly forgettable and hackneyed, but with some good exceptions. It is obviously impossible to know them all, but to identify those, at least out in Italy (we allowed ourselves one exception, hoping that it will no longer be such next year), produced this year that deserve a mention is possible. Or, at least, we try. We have sacrificed the myriad of excellent shows that have not yet arrived in our country and which reap and have reaped nominations for award most prominent television. Curiously, the latter rarely coincide with the choices of the public and independent critics. Seeking a balance between old and new – but favoring the latter – between American, European and Oriental productions and aiming atinclusiveness – also in format, therefore without neglecting anime, horror and mockumentary – we have developed ours ranking of the best tv series of 2022.
