In recent days we have written about the photographic exhibitions that will be open to visitors over the next year. For example, we cannot fail to mention those linked to Leica and which can be visited in the Leica Stores in Italy. But of course they are not the only ones. A few days ago it was inaugurated Photo exhibition by title ARcTic Memories which will be visible until January 29, 2023.

An exhibition that will ideally take the visitor to theArctic with the missions of Italian navy. A set of photographic shots showing both decidedly suggestive, albeit inhospitable places, and the men and women who participate in the missions of the High North research program (carried out in the years 2017 – 2019 and 2020 – 2022), conducted by the Institute Hydrographic of the Navy. Here is the useful information.

The photographic exhibition ARcTic Memories
Open to the public from 15 December 2022 (continuing until 29 January 2023) at D’Albertis Castle (located in Genoa), headquarters of the Museum of World Culturesthe photographic exhibition is a collection of photographs by photographers Marco Carlevaro and Marco Villa who recounted the Arctic campaigns of the research program of the Italian navy with the participation of various national and international bodies.

As can be guessed from the name and as written above, ARcTic Memories it tells about life in extreme latitudes with difficult conditions even for trained personnel. The archive of photographs and videos testifying to this experience (useful for scientific research) is of great value and can now also be viewed by enthusiasts.
This Photo exhibition then it is part of the initiatives to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the foundation of the Hydrographic Institute of the Navy. The visiting hours of Castello D’Albertis – Museum of World Cultures are from Tuesday to Friday (from 10 to 17) and on Saturdays and Sundays (from 10 to 18). Monday is the closing day.

There vessel employed for the support of these scientific researches is the alliance (delivered in 1988). It is a multi-purpose research unit which carries out activities mainly for the Maritime Research and Experimentation Centre. In particular, research is carried out in the environmental and underwater acoustics fields. Over the years, as many as 35,000 shots have been captured and within ARcTic Memories there is a selection of the most representative.
